Prof. Yoko Fujita-Yamaguchi and Prof. Markus Kalkum of City of Hope visited YU
On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Professor Emeritus Yoko Fujita-Yamaguchi and Professor Markus Kalkum from Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute, Beckman Research Institute, City of Hope (COH), USA, paid a courtesy visit to President Yukio TANIZAWA. COH is one of the partner institutes with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and they visited YU to conduct a research exchange with the research group led by Dr. Michihiro NAKAMURA, Professor of the Graduate School of Medicine. After the meeting with the president, they moved to another venue and held an international symposium, “YU-COH Biomedical Research Partnership ‘Exchange Expansions 2024’” in a hybrid format.
During their stay, both professors conducted research exchanges with faculty and students from various fields within the university, exchanged opinions on institutional management, and interacted with local high school students. This visit is an opportunity to further expand academic exchange between the two institutions.
